Velotric Fold 1 Plus Ebike

I previously posted a review of my Fold 1 Plus with the accessories I had installed at the time. I just finished installing the Suspension Seatpost 2.0. Looks great!! Looking forward to my first ride with it installed. May have to make some "pre-load" adjustments. BTW, this accessory did not come with any instructions so you'll have to figure it out yourself. There is a video posted but it's for a different bike that has a lot of components that have to be disassembled and reassembled before and after the seatpost is installed. Not much about the seatpost installation itself. I think (hope) I figured it out.

I bought this bike to convert into a fishing ebike to ride the trails along the river. It has been more fun than I can put into words. I have put about 100 miles on it so far and it has held up great. I have a RAV4 and its fits in the hatch easily. I do recommend upgrading the seat post and seat but overall love this thing.

I’ve been riding the Velotric Fold 1 Plus hard and consistently.. Not just smooth bike paths, but cracked city streets, traffic, dirt trails, gravel paths, and even thin grass tracks. This bike has handled all of it better than I expected from a folding e-bike.

The motor has strong, predictable torque. In Class 2 it’s smooth and controlled. In Class 3 it has more than enough power to keep up with traffic when I need to. Acceleration feels confident but not jerky, and pedal assist levels are well tuned.

The frame feels solid for a folding bike. No sketchy flex or instability at speed. It feels planted, especially with the wider 20” tires. That said, upgrading tires is worth considering if you ride rough terrain regularly like I do.

Ride comfort is good overall. The upright position is comfortable for longer rides, and the bike feels stable even on uneven surfaces.

Battery life has been reliable. I ride in mixed conditions and haven’t had range anxiety yet. It’s consistent and dependable.

What I appreciate most is versatility. I use this bike in real-world conditions including commuting, trail riding, errands, and navigating traffic. The Fold 1 Plus adapts well to all of it. It’s not just a “casual cruiser.” It’s fully capable.

If you’re looking for a folding e-bike that can handle more than just paved paths, this one delivers.

New to ebikes but have been looking fir a step thru foldable with Grit! You nailed it!!! Im 5-'2" and it's perfect!

Your display screen is perfect for riding in the sunlight and with most sunglasses on and it's easy to read!

Love all the safety features that Velotric has put into this bike and all the thought in the technology and design of this wonderful bike! I got the gray stone foldable foldable plus one a week ago and I have read it over 36 miles the last three days 😎👏and enjoy getting used to all of it's safety features as well as great add-ons.

Although I'll keep it in torque mode most of the time and very little assist unless there's a headwind it's an easy bike to control ride and manipulate.

Especially like the turn indicators, the brake lights and the headlight for safety as well as the thumb throttle. I think this makes a difference rather than the handlebar throttle easier to control and not as easy to increase accidentally..

It's nice to use the thumb throttle and torque a little bit just to go over a tiny sidewalk connection.

I live in Florida and have a very tall hill to ride up to get to the top Dune in St Augustine. It comes up the hill with ease just in torque 2 echo mode and probably could've done it in one, but I didn't want to take any chances as the hill is probably a 45° angle😎👏

I believe it's solidly constructed and will provide service for a long time. Especially like the safety of the battery compartment and the charging efficiency…

I have owned this F1+ for a few months now. I’ve added beautiful Brooks panniers and seat for storage and comfort. With the suspension seat and a locked front fork, the ride on pavement is ideal. The canvas Brooks rear bags allow for big storage and still allows the bike to fold completely and protects the frame. I had to modify the rear rack to accommodate the slightly undersized attachment clips on my Brooks panniers. Your rack frame is beefy and doesn’t allow for traditional bags to attach so, I got at it and it all works perfectly. The photos tell the story.

I did find the setup on the handlebars to be very cluttered and unorganized. I added two handlebar sections to move the headlight centered and added a small make for basic storage. I don’t like the cellphone holder but otherwise the setup is clean and comfortable now. I’m not 100% sold on the larger screen even though an upgrade selling point, our phones and Velotric app should provide everything needed. IMHO, It’s redundant to have both. Sometimes simplifying is a better approach. That being said, there is a learning curve to finding optimal comfort and settings which will take time. It’s fun to explore the settings to see what works best. I’m always on torque to give it a bike feel experience. Again you bring a lot of options that likely aren’t necessarily. Pleasing most consumers require all the options which are thoughtfully provided on this bike.
